Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Shell (Integrated Mode) is a redistributable subset of the Visual Studio IDE that enables third‑party tools and extensions to run inside the Visual Studio 2008 environment. It installs the core IDE framework—menus, tool windows, editors, and extensibility services—but does not include programming languages, compilers, or project systems. The Integrated Mode shell is designed to merge with an existing Visual Studio 2008 installation and typically requires a compatible Visual Studio 2008 edition to host partner extensions. This package is the ENU release, providing the user interface and resources in English (United States). Note: Visual Studio 2008 is a legacy product and is no longer supported.
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Shell (integrated mode) - ENU is developed by Microsoft. The most popular version of this product among our users is 9.0. The names of program executable files are devenv.exe, devenv2008_wrap.exe, dexplore.exe, EnableDotNet3.exe and Inventory.vshost.exe.
